Music
Born in Kazan. Loud in Vienna.
AYGYUL (she/they) is a Vienna-based singer, songwriter and producer, and an unapologetic voice for the LGBTQ+ community.
She works in electronic post-pop: layered electronic textures, alt and dark pop, garage-inspired grooves and live drums that keep a human pulse in the machine. Her voice moves from intimate, close-mic pop to moments of spine-tingling power.
She started as a childhood opera singer, found beatboxing and live looping, then taught herself to produce and built her sound on her own terms. She writes with her partner of eight years, Pati Avish (they/she), who co-writes the lyrics: love, vulnerability and power, told honestly.
Born and raised in Kazan, she moved to Vienna at 21 to live openly and safely as a queer person. Her music makes room for visibility, freedom and emotional truth. Her debut album YOU AND I, supported by Musikfonds, is out on 11 December.
As a producer and creator she has worked with Ableton, Adam Audio, Focusrite Group, Sequential, Lewitt, dm and Die Grünen, and was selected for the third season of the Female Producer Collective.

How to say my name
It's Tatar for moon flower, and it's my real name. I was born under a full moon: my mom watched it through the window as she brought me into this world, and named me after it.
Stress on the first part: EYE-gyul. Tap a syllable.
